Cayenne a Circulatory Stimulant
Cayenne is considered primarily as a circulatory stimulant. Taking this herb will give more power to the circulatory system and can improve symptoms such as cold extremities, colds, flus, sore throat, arthritis, poor digestion, fatigue, headaches, indigestion and can normalise high or low blood pressure.
Cayenne is a herb that will feed the necessary elements into the cell structures of the arteries, veins and capillaries so that they regain elasticity and so that blood pressure returns to normal. Cayenne equalises blood pressure, influencing the heart immediately.
Cayenne has been used as a remedy for heart attacks. As a stimulant, it can start the heart into action again and keep it going. Cayenne is one of the richest and most stable sources of Vitamin E, which is known to be a heart builder.
Dr John Christopher and Cayenne
Dr John Christopher, the Late Master Herbalist, reported, 35 years of practice, and working with people and teaching, I have never, on house calls, lost one heart attack patient and the reason is, whenever I go in - if they are still breathing - I give them a cup of cayenne tea (a teaspoon of cayenne in a cup of hot water), and within minutes they are up and walking around.
This is one of the fastest acting aids we could give for the heart, because it feeds the heart immediately. Cayenne can help re-establish circulation to the limbs affected by frostbite and diabetes. An internal dose will bring warmth and circulation to feet and hands that are chronically cold and suffering from chilblains.
What else can Cayenne help with?
One of Cayenne's most common uses is as a gastric stimulant and digestive aid. It rebuilds the stomach tissue and stimulates peristalsis, thus assisting in assimilation and elimination. Cayenne is used as a diaphoretic (to promote sweat). It should be given when a chill is coming on, to offset a cold or to break a fever, as it sustains circulation and assists in the removal of mucous.
Mixed with ginger, Cayenne does a wonderful job of cleaning out the bronchial tubes and sinus cavities and relieving all the problems of colds and congestion. Cayenne works powerfully to arrest bleeding. According to Dr Christopher, "You can place Cayenne powder on an open wound, even one that is gushing blood and by the count of ten, the bleeding will usually cease.
If there is internal haemorrhaging in the lungs, stomach, uterus or nose, have the person take a teaspoon of cayenne in a glass of warm water. He states that the blood pressure will be equalised, taking the pressure off the affected part, clotting will begin and the haemorrhage will stop.
A circulatory strengthener, Cayenne would be a good herb to take if you suffer from any of the following ailments: high or low blood pressure, heart problems, cold hands and feet, chilblains, shingles, bleeding and wounds, pain, colds, flu, fever, sinus, stomach problems, frostbite and diabetes.

When first taking Cayenne, take it during a meal. By this I mean, have about 1/2 of your meal, take the cayenne, then have the rest of your meal. This sandwich's the hot pepper in to help prevent a bounce back of the hot pepper.
Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if you have a peptic ulcer, gastritis, inflammatory bowel conditions, or hiatus hernia. Some sensitive individuals may experience a warming or burning sensation in the stomach. If this occurs, plenty of water or milk will dissipate the heat. Cayenne supplements should be taken during a meal, to help buffer the heat. Burning sensations may indicate thin or weakened mucus membranes in the stomach or gastric/duodenal ulcers.
