Folacin (Folic Acid) 400mcg
Solgar Folacin (Folic Acid) 400mcg. As Pteroylglutamic acid. Folic acid is also known as Vitamin B9 and is part of the water-soluble B Vitamins. There is an increased folic acid breakdown during pregnancy, due to the rapidly growing baby. Low folate status during pregnancy has been linked to birth defects, such as neural tube defects. The Ministry of Health in New Zealand suggests 400mcg of folic acid a day, increased to 800mcg-5mg daily, before and during pregnancy and while breast feeding. A low folate status can result in depression, poor mental development and reduced overall cognitive performance. Suitable for vegans. Salt, sugar and starch free. 100 tablets
Folic Acid for:
Lowering homocysteine levels
Essential before during and after pregnancy while breast feeding to reduce the risk of neural tube defect

Low level can result in depression, poor mental development and reduced overall cognitive performance
As well as this, it may be supportive for:
Anaemia, cervical dysplasia, peridontal gum disease and low histamine levels
