This mineral (Iron) is found in the largest amounts in our blood and is involved in respiration, by being the main carrier for getting oxygen to all the cells in the body. Low iron is a common problem these days. This can be due to many reasons, but the most common reasons for having low iron levels are not eating enough iron rich foods in the diet, consuming tannin and caffeine containing foods or beverages within 1 hour after meals and having an absorption problem such as with coeliac disease. Also, women commonly have low iron, due to menstrual bleeding. Too much iron, accumulating over the years, can occur in older men. This is often due to poor liver function. If this is the case, iron supplements must not be taken. Most women however will need to take an iron supplement at some time in their life, due to menstrual bleeding.

BENEFITS:

Iron is a major component of haemoglobin and is involved in the formation of red blood cells. It is essential for maintaining energy levels, supporting the nervous, immune system and heart function. Symptoms of low iron include cravings for ice or cold drinks, brittle hair, peeling finger nails, feeling light headed and dizzy, especially when bending down and standing up again, being emotionally erratic, fatigue, headaches, breathlessness, poor appetite, deficient in cognitive behaviour and constipation.

INGREDIENTS:

Each 1 tablet provides: Elemental Iron 5mg, Vitamin C 50mg. Containing: Ferrous Fumarate 13.7mg, Calcium Ascorbate 42.4mg, Ascorbic Acid 15mg, Sweeteners (Fructose Sorbitol), Tableting aids, Flavours.

DOSAGE:

Adults: Take 1-2 tablets twice daily with meals. Children: Take 1 tablet twice daily with meals, or as professionally prescribed.

PRECAUTIONS:

Consult your health professional if taking any medication or suffering from a medical condition. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Iron is toxic in high doses. Keep out of reach of Children.

Orders within New Zealand are dispatched by courier once your payment has been processed. Our customer service team aim to dispatch your order within 24 hours during the working week. Within Auckland please allow 48 hours for delivery. For all other areas please allow 72 hours.  Within NZ, supplement orders over NZ$70 are conveniently delivered freight free. Freight Free may exclude food items and cleaning products - we will contact you if additional courier charges apply to your order containing these items. Orders under NZ$70 in value will have a delivery charge based on the delivery address.
