Nettle - A Highly Nutritious Herb
A highly nutritious herbal supplement providing a wide range of vitamins and minerals including relatively high amounts of chlorophyll, calcium, potassium, silica and iron, plus vitamins A, B1, B2, B9, C, E and K, manganese, copper, zinc, magnesium, cobolt and sulphur. Nettle also contains 30% protein. It is said "no plant is more useful in domestic medicine".
Nettle is a nutritive tonic with anti-haemorrhagic, diuretic, alterative, galactagogue, and expectorant properties. Useful as a tonic during pregnancy, and breast feeding, to improve vitamin K status, supply nutrients and increase lactation (may also help reduce excessive milk production). For convalescence, anaemia, acne, eczema (especially infants and nervous eczema), allergic rhinitis, and mild internal bleeding.
Nettle is also an antirheumatic, which helps eliminate uric acid from the body. (This is a herb preparation as opposed to the root or rhizome, which is useful for prostatic hypertrophy - especially in combination with saw palmetto).
