Clinicians Womens Hormone Support provides a pure extract of Di-indolylmethane (DIM) designed to assist in maintaining healthy hormone levels in both men and women. DIM is a simple derivative of Indoyl 3 Carbinol (I3C) which is extracted from brassica vegetables. It has been known for a long time that consuming adequate amounts of brassica vegetables (cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts) will reduce the incidence of cancer. Acts to detoxify estrogens in the human body. DIM is a molecule that has been studied for 25 years. Hormonal balance, fat metabolism. Leanne uses this product specifically for night flushes that happen between 1-3am in the morning. 90 Capsules
. Plant Based Nutrient to Support Healthy Oestrogen levels.

Diindolylmethane (DIM)
Diindolylmethane (DIM) is the most active cruciferous substance for promoting beneficial oestrogen metabolism in women and men. DIM is found in cruciferous vegetables including broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels sprouts. It is formed from its precursor indole, Indole-3-carbinol (I3C), after the enzymatic release of I3C from parent glucosinolates found in all cruciferous vegetables.
The supplemental use of DIM began with early experiments which demonstrated that animal diets with added DIM, like diets with added cruciferous vegetables, prevented chemically induced cancer. Pure DIM was first used in 1987 as a dietary supplement in animals, shown to be non-toxic, and to prevent breast cancer caused by the carcinogen, dimethylbenz(a)anthracene. Similarly, the initiation pathway to chemically induced colon cancer was inhibited with the DIM precursor, I3C.
The mechanisms by which DIM prevents cancer in animals has subsequently been shown to involve a reduction in activity of the oestrogen receptor system, promotion of beneficial oestrogen metabolism, and support for selective apoptosis, or "programmed cell death" which removes damaged cells.
Supplemental use of DIM in humans is effective in adjusting the pathways of oestrogen metabolism to favour the production of 2-hydroxy oestrogen metabolites. These shifts in oestrogen metabolites were significant and showed an approximate 75% increase in production of 2-hydroxyestrone and a 50% decrease in 16-hydroxyestrone . An increased proportion of 2-hydroxy metabolites is correlated to protection from breast cancer. This relationship has been documented in several case-control studies. Case-control studies have also documented that low levels of 2-hydroxy metabolites are associated with breast cancer in women, breast cancer in men, familial risk of breast cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer, and systemic lupus erythematosis. An increase in the rate of breast cancer has now been associated with lupus. Many established risk factors for breast cancer including obesity, high fat diets, and diets deficient in Omega 3 fatty acids have also been correlated with low 2-hydroxy estrone production.
DIM is unique among all phytonutritionals with regard to its ability to favourably modify oestrogen metabolism in the direction of greater 2-hydroxy oestrogen production. Unlike soy isoflavones, genistein and daidzein, DIM is not an oestrogen mimic or "phytoestrogen" and has no inherent estrogenic activity. DIM acts to balance the natural response to oestrogen by adjusting the activity of metabolic cytochrome enzymes and specialized oestrogen receptor molecules.

Usage of DIM is indicated for both men and women, especially those with a predisposition to hormone reactive cancers such as breast or prostate cancer. Also women with Endometriosis, premenstrual tension. Menstrual or menopausal problems. Promotes fat loss. Supports healthy breast, cervical, uterine and prostate tissues. Increase the level of "good" oestrogens (2-hydroxyoestrogen) while reducing the level of "bad" oestrogens (16-hydroxyoestrogen).
