Star Anise (Illicium verum) Essential Oil is a licorice-like and spicy 100% pure essential oil that has uplifting, balancing and comforting benefits.

Extracted by Steam Distillation from the ripened seed of the plant.

Specific Gravity: 1.976 - 0.988

Refractive Index: 1.553-1.560

For aromatherapy use. For all other uses, carefully dilute with a carrier oil such as jojoba, grapeseed, olive or almond oil prior to use. Please consult an essential oil book or other professional reference source for suggested dilution ratios.

Star Anise mixes well with Cedarwood Oil, Lime Oil, Orange Oil and Vanilla Concentrate Oil.

Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. If pregnant or lactating, consult your healthcare practitioner before using. Not for internal use.

Natural essential oils are highly concentrated and should be used with care.

Star Anise Essential Oil 100% Pure contains only star anise oil from Illicium verum. The main thing to know before buying is that the aroma is sweet and licorice-like, not just generally spicy.

That makes it especially useful in citrus, vanilla and holiday-style blends where you want a recognisable anise note. Star anise is often linked with trans-anethole, which helps explain that familiar licorice character.

FAQ

What does Star Anise Essential Oil contain?
It contains pure star anise oil. That gives you the full sweet spice aroma without other oils changing the scent.

What is star anise oil commonly used for?
It is commonly used to add a licorice-like spice note to blends. It can make orange, vanilla and wood oils smell warmer and more seasonal.

Is Star Anise Essential Oil very sweet smelling?
It smells sweet, but in a spiced licorice way rather than a dessert way. If you already know you enjoy anise or fennel notes, it will make more sense to you.
