Red Raspberry Leaves have an astringent or tightening effect and have been traditionally used to help strengthen the uterus. As well as this, it has been used to help overcome nausea and to ease and improve labour. Red Raspberry leaves are also said to possess an agent that can help prevent excessive bleeding after delivery. The added advantage of taking Red Raspberry in Capsule or tea form for nausea in the first trimester of pregnancy is that it helps expel excess water, acting as a mild diuretic. It is found mainly in herbal female combinations. It strengthens the wall of the uterus and the entire reproductive system. It is said that it can help decrease profuse menstrual flow. Is good during all months of pregnancy, although many midwifes now suggest it is only used in the last trimester. (check with your GP or midwife BEFORE using this herb during pregnancy). This herb is also reported to help tone and regulate the uterus before, during and after childbirth. Taking this herb increases and enriches milk for lactation and can be combined with marshmallow tea. It is good for stomach aches and bowel problems in children. It is soothing to the stomach and bowels and cankerous conditions of mucous membranes in the alimentary canal. It is a good source of vitamins and minerals.
Has a variety of uses from labour aid, taken in the last trimester of pregnancy, to a postpartum tonic: for reducing vaginal discharge, heavy periods and period pain and as an astringent to effectively ease diarrhoea. Red raspberry Capsules may also be opened and made into a tea/gargle for helping relieve mouth problems such as mouth ulcers, bleeding gums and inflammations. As a gargle it may assist in reducing sore throats.
Each Capsules contains: Red Raspberry Leaves (Rubus idaeus) 360 mg. Other ingredients: Gelatine and water.
Take 2 Capsules with a meal three times daily.
