Haemorrhoidal Ointment brings together horse chestnut, witch hazel, calendula, borage, oak bark and horsetail in a topical base. Horse chestnut and witch hazel are commonly used in products for haemorrhoids because they are associated with toning and astringent support, while calendula is well known in topical care for helping calm irritated skin.
Oak bark and horsetail add more astringent plant support, which makes sense in a product aimed at swollen, delicate tissue. In practical terms, Haemorrhoidal Ointment is there to soothe discomfort, support the affected area and make the skin feel less irritated. The main thing to know before buying is that it is a botanical topical product aimed at local comfort rather than an internal treatment.
What herbs are in Haemorrhoidal Ointment?
Haemorrhoidal Ointment includes horse chestnut, witch hazel, calendula, borage, oak bark and horsetail. These herbs are commonly used in topical care for their soothing and astringent properties.
Why are horse chestnut and witch hazel included together in Haemorrhoidal Ointment?
They are often paired in haemorrhoid products because both are associated with toning and local comfort. Together they help explain the ointment's focus on swelling and tissue support.

Calendula is widely used in skin products to help calm and support irritated tissue. In this ointment it adds a soothing element alongside the more astringent herbs.
