SaltStick FastChews deliver scientifically balanced electrolytes matched to your body's sweat loss. These chewable tablets combine sodium, potassium, and magnesium with B vitamins and taurine to sustain hydration, reduce heat stress, and help prevent exercise-induced cramping all without stomach upset or added sugar.

Perfect for athletes, outdoor workers, and anyone pushing their limits. Grab a packet on the go and chew whenever you need rapid electrolyte replenishment.

Benefits

Clinically proven fast delivery - a clinical study conducted at Western Colorado University demonstrated that SaltStick FastChews begin delivering electrolytes in as little as 45 seconds, with nearly 50% of sodium absorbed within the first 60 seconds of chewing - significantly faster than sports drinks or electrolyte powders
Four key electrolytes per serving - each 2-tablet serving provides 100mg sodium, 30mg potassium, 10mg calcium, and 6mg magnesium, the four primary electrolytes lost in sweat, in a balanced formula designed to support hydration and normal muscle function during exercise
Muscle cramp support - replaces the electrolytes depleted during sweating that are closely associated with exercise-induced muscle cramps; particularly useful during long-duration activity, hot weather, or high-intensity sessions where sweat loss is significant
Sodium citrate for stomach comfort - uses sodium citrate rather than sodium chloride (table salt), which is easier on the stomach during intense exercise and tastes less salty, making it more pleasant to take mid-activity
No mixing, no preparation - chew and go; suitable for use during any activity where stopping to mix a drink is impractical, including running, cycling, hiking, team sports, and travel
Suitable for a wide range of uses - not just for endurance athletes; also popular for everyday hydration support, hot weather, travel, physically demanding work, and night-time leg cramps
Informed Choice certified - independently certified for drug-free sport, making these appropriate for competitive athletes subject to anti-doping testing
Clean formula - no artificial sweeteners, no artificial colours; sweetened with a small amount of dextrose and stevia; coloured naturally with beet powder; vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and non-GMO
Suitable for children - appropriate for young athletes under parental supervision as a convenient alternative to sports drinks that often contain high amounts of sugar and artificial additives

Directions for Use

Chew 2 tablets for every 30 minutes of exercise or activity. For maximum effect, chew completely before swallowing. Drink water as needed.

Can be taken before, during, or after exercise depending on when electrolyte support is needed. FastChews can also be taken with or without water - they are designed to replace electrolytes while water replaces fluid loss, so you can drink when thirsty and chew when you need electrolytes.

Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place. FastChews are sensitive to moisture - if exposed to humidity, tablets may soften or discolour, though this does not affect safety or performance.

Precautions

Suitable for adults and children under parental supervision. If you have a medical condition or take prescription medication, consult your healthcare professional before use. Keep out of reach of young children. Store in a cool, dry place.

More Information

SaltStick FastChews stand out in the electrolyte supplement category for one reason that makes a different to the rest: the speed at which they work. In a clinical study conducted at Western Colorado University, FastChews were shown to begin delivering electrolytes in as little as 45 seconds, with nearly 50% of sodium absorbed within the first 60 seconds of chewing. This happens because chewing initiates absorption through the buccal tissue - the mucous membranes inside the mouth and under the tongue - before the tablets even reach the stomach. Sports drinks and electrolyte powders require digestion before absorption can begin, making FastChews one of the fastest delivery formats available.

The electrolyte profile is designed to mirror what the body actually loses in sweat. Sweat is not just sodium - it also contains potassium, calcium, and magnesium, and replenishing all four is important for supporting normal muscle function, preventing cramps, and maintaining hydration during sustained activity. The smaller per-tablet dose compared to SaltStick Caps is deliberate: FastChews are designed to be taken frequently throughout activity - every 30 minutes - allowing electrolytes to be replaced in smaller, regular doses rather than large single servings.

The formula uses sodium citrate rather than sodium chloride (table salt). Sodium citrate is gentler on the stomach during intense exercise - an important consideration when the gut is under physiological stress - and has a less intensely salty taste, making it easier and more pleasant to take mid-run or mid-ride. Calcium gluconate and magnesium citrate are the forms used for those two minerals, both chosen for tolerability and absorption. The tablets are sweetened with a small amount of dextrose and stevia, and coloured naturally with beet powder - no artificial sweeteners, no artificial colours.

FastChews are Informed Choice certified for drug-free sport, making them appropriate for competitive and professional athletes subject to anti-doping requirements. Founded by a PhD chemist and professional triathlete, SaltStick has been trusted by athletes in more than 40 countries since 2006, and manufactured in a cGMP-certified facility.

FAQ

How are FastChews different from a sports drink or electrolyte powder?
Sports drinks and electrolyte powders need to be mixed and then digested before electrolytes can be absorbed. SaltStick FastChews begin absorbing through the oral tissues in as little as 45 seconds because you chew them - no mixing, no waiting, and no need to carry a drink bottle during activity. They are also more portable, lower in sugar, and free from artificial sweeteners and colours compared to most sports drinks.

How quickly do FastChews work?
A clinical study conducted at Western Colorado University demonstrated that FastChews start delivering electrolytes in as little as 45 seconds, with nearly 50% of sodium absorbed within the first 60 seconds of chewing. This is significantly faster than conventional electrolyte formats.

How many should I take and how often?
The standard recommendation is 2 tablets every 30 minutes of exercise, adjusted for your sweat rate, the heat, and intensity of activity. They can be taken before, during, or after exercise depending on when you feel you need electrolyte support.

Do FastChews help with muscle cramps?
They help support the electrolyte balance associated with exercise-induced muscle cramping, particularly cramps related to dehydration and heavy sweating. Many users also report relief from night-time leg cramps when taken before bed.

Do FastChews need to be taken with water?
Not necessarily. FastChews replace electrolytes while water replaces fluid. You can chew when you need electrolytes and drink when you need hydration - they work independently, which is one of their practical advantages during activity.

Are FastChews suitable for children?
Yes, under parental supervision. They are free from artificial sweeteners and artificial colours, and lower in sugar than most sports drinks, making them a practical alternative for young athletes during sports and activity.

Are FastChews certified for drug-free sport?
Yes. FastChews are Informed Choice certified, meaning they have been independently tested for banned substances. This makes them appropriate for competitive athletes subject to anti-doping testing.
