Lyprinol Stabilised Marine Lipid Oil Extract PCSO-524 is a unique patented lipid extract from the New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel. It contains over 30 different fatty lipid oils which are mixtures of saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). It also contains marine sterols and other fatty acids such as ETA and OTA. Its dark yellow oil has been found to have a substantial anti-inflammatory activity, making it very useful in assisting to promote healthy joints and in supporting joint function and mobility. International scientific studies have shown that Lyprinol supports and maintains healthy airways. It is rich in Omega-3s essential for general well being. Lyprinols unique extraction process achieves pure oil that does not include protein, which is a major cause of shellfish allergies.
Lyprinol is a unique whole lipid extract from the New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel, Perna canaliculus. This dark yellow oil has been found to have a substantial anti-inflammatory activity, with strong ultra-violet absorbing characteristics.
Comprehensive studies have been carried out by Dr Michael Whitehouse in the Department of Medicine, Princess Alexandra Hospital, the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, on Lyprinol to test for its anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic effect. He compared the effectiveness of Lyprinol with other commonly available anti inflammatory and anti-arthritic compounds.
These studies showed that Lyprinol reduced swelling by 93-97% when delivered orally. Further studies of the transdermal route for delivery, clearly demonstrated that Lyprinol, at a dosage of 25mg/kg of body weight, could totally inhibit the swelling associated with polyarthritis.
This unique marine product has been exposed to critical review by many research institutions world wide and is proven to have significant anti-inflammatory activity in vitro in inhibiting leukotriene synthesis and in vivo by markedly reducing the severity of adjuvant-induced poly arthritis in rat models. Various publications have been released confirming these results and the recent completion of a human double blind study conducted at the Glasgow Hospital in Scotland also confirmed these results. Leukotrienes are formed in the body via the lipoxygenase pathway and are responsible for initiating and extending the inflammatory process.
The work carried out in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the University of Adelaide in Australia has clearly demonstrated that the stabilised marine lipid Lyprinol is a powerful inhibitor of the 5-lipoxygenase pathway, thus its ability to markedly reduce the damaging effects of persistent inflammation that one may find in various allergic reactions including arthritis and other inflammatory disorders including inflammation of the respiratory airways.
Supports and maintains healthy joints, mobility and function, and healthy airways via its ability to influence inflammation processes. It is rich in omega-3 essential for health well being.
